Nadia Ferreira
Senior colourist
Lightening and correction work. Nadia will talk you out of going four levels lighter in one sitting, and she is usually right.
This week: two colour chairs open Thursday evening, one cutting chair Saturday morning.

We build colour in daylight, cut to the way your hair actually dries, and send you home knowing how to repeat it. Long appointments, small team, no upselling.
01 — Services
Durations are the time the chair is actually booked for, not a best case. Every price is a starting point set at consultation.
Cut on dry hair so the shape is judged on your real texture.
Wash, cut and a finish you can rebuild at home in ten minutes.
Cut curl by curl, finished with a diffuse-dry and no brush.
Between visits, by appointment. Free if we cut the fringe originally.
Regrowth covered, ends refreshed so the join disappears.
Brightness where it shows — parting, hairline and the top section.
Hand-painted, placed to grow out softly over four to five months.
Box dye, banding or a grown-out ombré. Consultation and a patch test first.
Added to any lightening service. Worth it above two levels of lift.
Exfoliating cleanse and massage. Good before a tint, not after.
Softens the frizz without removing movement. Lasts about three months.
Hair below the shoulder, very dense hair, or hair with old colour on the ends takes more product and more time. We confirm the final figure with you at the consultation, before anything is mixed.
02 — The Ward method
Nothing here is a package. It is simply the order we work in, so you know what the chair time is being spent on.
STEP 01
Dry, unstyled, by the window. Salon spotlights flatter colour and hide banding, so we judge tone and condition where it is honest, then agree what is achievable today versus across two visits.
STEP 02
Lift, then tone, then cut to the lightened shape. Working in that order means the ends are cut after they have moved, so nothing has to be corrected at the end of a three-hour appointment.
STEP 03
Before you leave we show you where the colour will shift first, which week it will start to look different, and the two things worth doing at home. You book the next visit only when you need it.
03 — The chairs
Request a stylist by name on the booking form. If they are full that week we will tell you rather than quietly moving you.

Cutting specialist
Short shapes, fringes and anything that has to hold its line as it grows. Cuts dry, almost always freehand.
Curl & texture
Coils, waves and transitioning hair. Joss cuts curl by curl and will show you the finish without a single brush.
04 — Before you book
The seven things clients ask at the basin, answered here instead so you can decide which service to request.
Two to three levels on healthy, uncoloured hair is comfortable. Beyond that the hair is usually fine but the tone is not — you get the lift and lose the evenness.
If your reference photo is four or more levels away from where you are now, plan two appointments six to eight weeks apart. It costs the same in total and the ends survive it.
Often yes, but not on the first visit. Box colour sits unevenly and can hold metallic salts that react with lightener, so we patch test a small section and watch it.
If the test behaves, we start with a softer, higher placement that avoids the darkest bands, then push brighter next time.
Root tint every four to six weeks, because the line is literal. Half-head foils every ten to twelve. Balayage every four to five months, with a gloss in between if you want it to look fresh.
Cuts hold their shape roughly eight weeks for short styles and twelve to sixteen for long ones.
A toner cancels something you do not want — usually yellow or orange left after lightening. It is corrective and it is part of the colour service.
A gloss adds shine and depth to hair that is already the right level. It is the cheap, quick thing that makes a four-month-old balayage look recent.
Please do, and bring two or three rather than one. We read the placement and the depth at the root, not the filter.
It also helps to bring one picture of something you definitely do not want. That tends to narrow the brief faster than anything else.
Warmth mostly comes from water and sun, not shampoo. Rinse cooler, and rinse the chlorine or seawater out the same day rather than the next morning.
A pigmented shampoo once a week is enough; twice turns pale blonde grey-blue. We will tell you which one suits your tone before you buy anything.
Usually it is a product weight problem, not a colour problem. Fine hair collapses under conditioner left mid-length to root.
We will also keep the lightener off the first centimetre at the crown, which preserves the grip your roots need to hold any volume at all.
05 — Request an appointment
This is a request, not a confirmed booking. We reply by email within two working days with a time, a stylist and a realistic price range.
